Happy holidays from all of us at the Coalition for Carolina. This year was an action-packed one for UNC and higher education, and we thank you for standing with us through the ups and downs.
We also want to use this final note of the year to remember former Governor Jim Hunt, who passed away last week. During his record four terms as North Carolina’s governor, Jim Hunt prioritized education above all else. Governor Hunt believed every child deserved to receive a quality public education, and that our state would be better for it. He was exactly right. North Carolina is a much better place today because of his service, and over this holiday season his memory will be with us. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hunt family and the many lives he touched during his 88 years.
At the Coalition for Carolina, we share Governor Hunt’s commitment to protecting and strengthening public education. We know you do, too. Thank you again for everything you have done this year to support this Coalition and to advocate on behalf of Carolina. Your work, your voice and your participation in this ever-growing Coalition truly makes a difference.
